Privacy

This page describes how Checkpoint handles your data. We will update it and notify you when material data practices change.

What we store

Your email, display name, user identifier, Japanese review history, study progress, settings, subscription entitlement status, diagnostics, and the device kind you signed in from. Optional profile images are stored only if you choose to upload one. We do not collect your contacts, your location, or data we do not need to provide the app.

Where it lives

Your data is stored in Supabase (US region). Crash reports and product analytics go to Sentry and PostHog respectively. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

Voice + tutor features

When you use the AI voice tutor, your audio is sent to OpenAI (Whisper transcription) and a language model to grade your answer. Conversations are not used to train models and are deleted from our servers after the session ends. We retain a transcript so you can review your own history.

Deletion

Email hello@checkpoint.study with the subject “Delete my account” and we will remove your data within seven days. We will respond to confirm.

Children

Checkpoint is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we will remove the account.
